KemBali Venture Support — Paid internship (Bali-based)

At Enviu we're looking for a KemBali Venture Support based in Bali to join our team.

Full-time · Enviu Indonesia - Bali

Snacks with a story, packaging with a purpose.

About KemBali

KemBali is an early-stage venture under Enviu's Destination Zero Waste Bali program, working to replace single-use plastic minibar snacks in Bali's 5-star hotels with premium local snacks — tempe chips, cashews, peanuts — served in reusable, hotel-branded jars. We're currently validating whether hotels will pay for it, and we need an extra set of hands on the ground in Bali to help make that happen.

About Zero Waste Indonesia

In Indonesia, Enviu runs the Zero Waste program, which aims to reduce plastic pollution by developing scalable reuse solutions and contributing to a thriving reuse ecosystem. Alongside venture building, the program works with businesses, governments, communities, and other ecosystem actors to advance waste prevention and systemic change.

About the job

This isn't a "watch and learn" internship — you'll be doing real, visible work that directly shapes whether KemBali becomes a real business:

  • Help run hotel outreach: booking and joining conversations with hotel GMs, F&B managers, and sustainability leads to test pricing and interest

  • Support willingness-to-pay experiments — logging every conversation same-day, tracking what's working and what isn't

  • Coordinate with local snack suppliers and producers on samples, pricing, and supply

  • Help scout and evaluate a reusable packaging option that holds up to 5-star standards with a real shelf life

  • Light admin: keeping the Validation Dashboard and Lean Workbook up to date, prepping materials for hotel meetings

  • Occasionally represent KemBali at sustainability/hospitality events in Bali

Time commitment

  • Full-time, roughly 40 hours/week

  • Initial commitment of 6 months, with potential to grow into a bigger role as KemBali moves through validation

  • Based in Bali — this role needs real boots on the ground, not remote support

About you

  • Final semester student or freshgrad with a background in hotel management, hospitality, tourism or sustainability who have the ambition to become an entrepreneur

  • Based in, or able to be consistently present in, Bali

  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English — you'll be talking to hotel staff and local producers in both

  • Comfortable picking up the phone or walking into a hotel and starting a conversation with a stranger — sales instinct or hospitality/FMCG background is a plus, but not required

  • Organized enough to log things consistently, even when it's not glamorous — we track everything, every day

  • Genuinely curious about sustainability, hospitality, or local food/producer systems

The personality we're looking for

  • A builder, not a bystander. You'd rather test something small this week than plan something perfect for next month.

  • Resilient with rejection. Most hotel conversations won't lead anywhere — you stay upbeat and keep going.

  • Resourceful. If the "right" way to do something doesn't exist yet, you find a workaround.

  • Curious and honest. You report back what you actually heard from hotels, not what sounds good in a meeting.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity. This is a very early-stage venture — plans will shift as we learn.

Our offer

  • Real ownership over a meaningful chunk of an early-stage venture's success — your work directly decides whether KemBali moves to the next stage

  • Direct mentorship from the KemBali venture lead and Enviu's broader Venture Building team

  • Hands on experience in entrepreneurship, learning what it takes to build a venture from ideas and turning it into real, scalable business

  • Firsthand experience in lean startup validation, hotel B2B sales, and sustainable supply chains

  • A front-row seat inside Enviu's Destination Zero Waste Bali program, backed by TUI Care Foundation and the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative (UN Tourism)
